This photograph was recently donated to the library by a local family. It captures a quiet moment inside a Stillwater store on what the wall calendars indicate is November 18, 1925. A woman and a man stand behind an L-shaped counter, surrounded by shelves stocked for customers preparing for the season.
A handwritten note on the back of the photograph states this is the Bronson-Folsom store, the long-running grocery and general mercantile business shaped by David Bronson, one of Stillwater’s most influential early leaders. Bronson helped build the town’s lumber era prosperity, served as its first Fire Chief and a two-term mayor, and guided civic life for decades.
We’re hoping the community can help confirm this piece of Stillwater history.
