Whether you’re seeking to extend your lineage, confirm family stories or learn more about family health and longevity, we have a variety of resources to help you trace your family’s history.

Print and Online Resources
Our collection includes genealogy manuals and how-to’s, FamilyTree Magazine, genealogy databases such as Ancestry Library edition (in-library use only), and historical newspaper databases (accessible from anywhere).

St. Croix Collection
This unique collection focuses on the local history of the St. Croix Valley. Highlights include resources for tracing house history, Stillwater High School’s Kabekonian yearbook collection, obituaries, scrapbooks of newspaper clippings of notable people and events, and much more! Our knowledgeable volunteers can assist in navigating this collection.

Genealogy Class: The 1950s Census

The 1950 Census will be released on April 1, 2022, after the 72-year restriction expires. This in-person class will provide instruction on doing locational searches in the 1950 census as well as general census search tips. All experience levels are welcome. Registration required.
