March – April 2026:
Through My Eyes, a gallery exhibit by artist Rita Zawislak-Brandt, is on display during library hours in March and April. Through watercolors, acrylics, pastels, pencil, and pen and ink, Rita shares the constantly evolving world she sees—inviting viewers to connect through feeling, memory, and imagination.
Rita’s lifelong career in art spans graphic design, illustration, and fine art. From her early work in the Minnesota Mutual Art Department and an advertising agency in Hanover, New Hampshire—where she created architectural renderings of the Hanover Inn at Dartmouth and Vermont Law School’s Old Main—to her role as graphic artist, designer and director at the University of Wisconsin–River Falls, Rita has embraced artistic challenges ranging from 3D campus maps and arena center-ice designs to large-scale murals. Now, through expressive figurative pieces, landscapes, portraits, and architectural renderings, she blends abstraction with realism to explore emotion, pattern, and color. Each piece reflects her belief that art is a personal journey—one she hopes will inspire visitors as they view the world, and perhaps their own experiences, through her eyes.
Meet Rita at the Artist Reception on Thursday, March 19 at 6:30 PM.
